Why Do Some Women Cheat?

It is all over the internet that Kristen Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson.  Pictures have surfaced of Kristen having intimate moments with her "Snow White and The Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders.  Who is a married man. Now, who would have thought that this couple would break apart when it seems that they are perfect for each other.  Or that Kristen would do such infidelity to her partner?  But my real question is why do some women cheat?  It seems to be easy and everywhere nowadays.  I'm a woman so I don't mean to point at my own kind.  But a relationship's supposed to be a two-way street so there should be reason for such act.  I made my research and found these common reasons why women cheat in a relationship.

Although in ranking, men has not yet been surpassed by women on the cheating scale who aren't really far behind. Studies showed that 14% of married women have cheated at least once compared to 22% of married men. But for my men readers, it would still be nice to hear a feedback from you about this matter.

Sexless or Inadequate Relationship Some women get involved with other relationships plainly for sex.  And the reasons for majority of women who cheat on their partners are those who aren't getting enough sex.  Women are needy and they always feel wanted.  If she isn't given the proper attention she deserves in a relationship she may be tempted to seek it elsewhere and become involved in an affair.  That is why it is very important, especially for married couples, to keep the fire going by going out on dates and do things that were usually done on the start of the relationship.  Kissing and cuddling means a lot to us women.

Self-esteem Issues Having self-esteem issues don't mean that a woman automatically cheats.  But it's when she feels insecure because she's not getting the right amount of attention and admiration that she expects from her partner that would lead her to look for someone to tell her that she's beautiful and desirable.  Sex can be self-esteem booster to make a woman feel sexier but even a little flattery could go a long way.  Remember that men.

Revenge When a woman feels wounded and betrayed because her husband or partner cheated on her then she'll think of hurting him back.  Many women see a cheating partner as a justification to have an affair of their own.  It is hard to undo discretion but asking for forgiveness and giving assurance that it will never happen again might need a heavy work up in the relationship.  A couple’s therapy could also help to get through that rough time.

Feeling of Being Lonely You could have this huge house with a big bedroom but there's something or should I say someone is lacking and that is the man of the house.  He could be working abroad or always on a business tour or severely workaholic.  Women don't need material things alone.  She needs intimacy and the feel to be connected in a relationship.  This could be done be spending quality time together like a romantic dinner or going to spa together or even just giving her a foot massage.

Where is the Love? A woman is versatile in many ways.  She plays the role of a cook, grocery-shopper, housekeeper, babysitter, etc. But when she's starting to feel like a maid than a girlfriend or a wife, that's when she could stray.  A woman should feel loved and complimented by her selfless deeds and not being taken for granted. A man doing his share around the house is such a warm in the heart really.

Lack of Excitement Boredom is also one factor into why women cheat.  Even in the bedroom.  Sex can be monotonous if you let it and monotony makes some women find solution in somebody else's arm.  To avoid routine, avoid repetition.

Break Up Solution There are women who don't like to deal with a broken relationship and opts for an "easier" exit strategy and that is cheating.  Or that's how she sees it.

Power and Money Men who are rich and those who holds powerful positions in the society are easy target baits for women who seeks someone that will provide her with the material goods that she thinks are far more important in her life.

Genuine Attraction Working women who manages both home and work efficiently comes across many males.  It is not impossible that they may find someone more attractive than their partner and fall in love.

Personally, I don't think there's any religion that would support cheating.  Sad as it may seem, but it is what's happening in our society.  I just feel bad for broken homes and families as a result of infidelity.  Now, If we are to summarize the common reasons pointed above, it only proves that women are emotional being and those who cheat has her heart that needs healing and not her libido.  Whereas man cheat because it is his in his natural being (I still don't accept this for the record).  But with a problem like this, both man and woman has to work out a resolution.  To her partner, he just have to be supportive not only physically but emotionally as well.  Most of all, communication is very important in a relationship - cheating or not cheating. :-)

Let Us Remember the Victims of the Colorado Shooting

from Twitter

Last night, I was trying to catch up with news and current events on the internet when I read about the Colorado movie theater shooting.   The suspect, James Holmes, came in from the exit door and started shooting everyone leaving 58 people injured and 12 dead.  It was the midnight premier of "Dark Knight Rises".

I felt a surge of emotion while reading the news and what particularly caught my attention were the stories and pictures of the victims who were aged as young as 6 to 51 years old.

Veronica Moser-Sullivan,6, was the youngest victim of the shootout.  She was excited to start her swimming lessons next week.  Her mother is still in a critical condition right now, calling for her daughter as she slips in and out of consciousness.

Gordon W. Cowden, 51, watched the movie together with his two teenage children.  The kids came out unscathed.  He will be remembered for his devotion to his children and for always trying his best to do the right thing.

Jonathan T. Blunk, Matthew R. McQuinn and Alexander Teves  all took the bullet to save their girlfriends.  These are REAL MEN.

Alexander Sullivan watched the "Dark Knight Rises" to celebrate his first wedding anniversary and what could have been his 27th birthday.  His last tweet was "Oh man one hour till the movie and it's going to be the best BIRTHDAY ever."

Micayla Medek, 23, was found dead 20 hours after the shootout.  On her Facebook Profile she wrote "I'm a simple independent girl who's just trying to get her life together while still having fun."

John Larimer, 27, was an outstanding shipmate, a valued member of the Navy team and a dedicated sailor.

Alexander J. Boik, 18,  is being remembered as a talented and kind man who enjoyed baseball, making pottery and music.

Staff Sgt. Jesse Childress, 29, was an Air Force reservist assigned to units at Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado. He will be missed by his work mates because he is the kind who touches everyone's heart.

Rebecca Ann Wingo, 32, has now left her two young girls motherless. Her father, Steve Hernandez, wrote this on Facebook Saturday: "I lost my daughter yesterday to a mad man, my grief right now is inconsolable. I hear she died instantly, without pain, however the pain is unbearable, Lord why, why, why?"

Jessica Ghawi, 24,  had narrowly escaped a shoot-out at a Toronto food court last month that killed one person.  "She had an epiphany at the moment that it could happen to any of us at any time and instead of being afraid of that she embraced life even more fully," her mother said.

This is something that we do not see or experience everyday.  These people only came to watch the movie and had only thought of living their lives.  Who would ever think that someone had a plan to do some killing that night?  It only goes to show that we don't know what lies ahead of us or when out time is. But death is inevitable.  It is like a thief in the night that comes when we less expect it.  Let this be a reminder of how precious life is.  And let us pause for a minute to pray for the families and victims of the Aurora, Colorado shooting that they feel God's arm around them every moment of each day.

Praising on Sundays: The Return of The Twelve

Gospel from Mark 6:30-34

The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they has done and taught.  Then because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have the chance to eat, he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest."  So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.  But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them.  When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd.  So he began teaching them many things.

My Reflection:
I try to balance my spiritual life by going to church on Sundays and on Holy days of obligations.  At an early age, I was also taught to create and maintain a close relationship with God by having a prayer life and constantly reading the Bible.  The latter wasn't very hard for me to do back then since I enjoy reading very much.  It came to a point that since I have read all books there was in the house, I started reading the Bible starting from Genesis to the Book of Revelations.  It did not surprise me when I got good grades in my Christian Living subject because of that.  Being a preacher's daughter, I have heard from my dad's teachings also that God wants us to spread his word and set a good example to humanity.   I don't think I can ever emulate my dad's 'Jesus-like character'.  Not yet anyway.  But for a start,  I can be like the disciples in the Gospel wherein Jesus had asked them to go to a solitary place and rest.  As I reflected on this, it came to my thoughts, that the only times that I call upon him, apart from Sundays, is when I'm burdened, down and low.  We work everyday to earn a living for our families.  But to continue to be effective at work, we need to ask help from God.  Just as it is important to recreate our energies by taking a rest, it is also important to spend time with the Lord through prayers.

A Blessed Sunday everyone. :-)

Creating My Dream Job

"Your dream job does not exist.  You must create it." - Anonymous.

I have been working as a freelancer for almost three years now.  Am I happy with my job?  I think I am because of the fact that I am doing it at home at my own pace and time.  So that means I can work and take care of my kids at the same time.  Am I contented with what I'm doing? Oh no. I will never get contented because I want to strive for more improvements - as a business woman and for the business as well.  Is this my dream job? I could say that I'm gearing towards that.

So is there really as such as a "Dream Job"?  I highlighted that quote above the picture as my barometer for reality check.  Confucius also has this quote for a saying, "Find a job you enjoy, and you'll never work a day in your life."  But even dream jobs require hard work, right?  It could only be easy if you're doing something that you love.  The first step to take in starting to follow your dreams is knowing what you want to do with your life.  For job and career seekers, be aware of the options that are available for your given skills and experience.  Don't make a long-term commitment and consider  short-term work experience or internships with jobs that may sound interesting to you.

Dream jobs are often more attainable than we think.  But they don't miraculously appear in the way we want it to be.  You have to work hard for it.  I am continuously creating my dream job and it's never always easy.   But as long as I'm happy with what I'm doing and I'm focused on my goal then I think I'm in the right path.  After all, it's hard to know if you're going in the right direction if you haven't picked out a point on the horizon.

BC Bloggers Meme: Family Bonding AT CROCOLANDIA

"A happy family is but an earlier heaven." - George Bernard Shaw

My post is very timely for this week's meme which is Family Bonding, thanks to Verna of My Baby, My Star.  Last weekend, we decided to visit the crocodiles, the snakes and all other animals found in Crocolandia, a crocodile farm and a mini zoo here in Cebu.  It was a great first time experience for the kids, especially the little ones, to see up close and personal the animals that they only see on TV and hear about from storybooks.  The bond we shared that day was the best we had because it was all pure, unadulterated, child-like fun.  Let me share it to you by the pictures I'll show.

No animals or children were hurt in this scene.  Those that we see are already dried and preserved.
Only my Tracy can strike a "scared look"with poise.  Oh yeah, that big black burmese python had just been fed so it's all curled up.
The only animal that Zef had identified by saying "Buh" for bird.  But I forgot the name of this bird..hmm?
That's Magellan the crocodile.  She used to be the biggest crocodile in the farm.

That's Lapu-Lapu, now the largest crocodile in the farm.  He's only half submerged but look at those spiky tail!
I honestly couldn't get near Lapu-Lapu even with the wired fence because he 's really huge and scary.
ZJ exclaimed "Oh my Gosh!" when he saw the crocodiles. :-)
Good for us, it was feeding time that day so we saw how they devoured the dead chicken all at one grasp.
Even seeing the turtle for the first time made all excited. Specially for ZJ because the only turtle he knows is me (my family calls me as such becuase I'm so slow :-(
After seeing all the animals, we thought we're done for the day til we saw this  small playground.  The children got pumped again.  Even hubby and I became children on our own and started having fun as well.
At the entrance of Crocolandia, where we took one last shot when we exited the place.
Would you believe that we only spent Php1,500 all for the gas, entrance fees and snacks on that day?  And no checking of cellphones the whole day!  We all went home tired, happy and with added knowledge. :-)

Stage Mommy-ing: My DanceSport Kids At an Event

Last week, my two dancesporters were invited at an Oath Taking Ceremony to dance as guests.   Since it was on a school week, stage mom as I am, I had to meet them up after school with all their costumes and make ups at hand.  And since no one can look after my little ones so I had to bring them along also.  It was really a chaotic but fun night for all of us.

That's me in red with my sister, Mitch, carrying my baby.  I'm sorry if the picture's blurry but I purposely chose this because I look so disheveled with my curly tendrils sticking out my pony.

Most of the time, we design their costumes.  Tracy's blue green sequined dress is her own choice.  I came from a family who's very conservative but since my kids are in a sport that requires a bit daring clothes for their costumes, I have to support them all the way.  But I don't condone with those costumes that almost bares their souls. No way!
After the event, the kids still had the energy to play and goof around.  By looking at this, I thought I've done a pretty good job in rearing my children.  Even with their age differences, Troy and Tracy as teens still plays with their younger siblings, ZJ and Zef.

The event turned out fine and the crowd applauded for them.   As a mom, it always fill my heart with pride and joy to accolades that my children receive.  They couldn't imagine that the performers who just danced for them were only aged 13 and 14 because they seem so professional already.   Thanks to their arduous work and training.  At the end of the day, they're still my babies.  I let them explore their youth and encourage them to enjoy their age, to go out and play.  Their passion to dance is here to stay and I'm always here, stage mom or not, to support them every step of the way.
